TECTONICS provided programming services to develop a definitive architectural program to transform an existing 4-story, cast-in-place concrete building at the Mare Island Naval Shipyard into a regional headquarters for the Forest Service. Through detailed assessments of existing conditions of the proposed building, including spatial requirements, accessibility, and needed corrections and modifications, a program was developed to incorporate all the requirements into the building design.

Using the program, construction documents were then prepared to renovate the 116,000-square-foot building into the client’s regional headquarters. Spaces included an atrium entry lobby, offices, training rooms, conference rooms, library, dining room, kitchen, computer room, print shop, supply rooms, men’s and women’s locker rooms, maintenance shop, and mechanical, electrical and fan rooms.
